Hannah touches upon posttraumatic stress disorder and how difficult it is for the soldiers to acclimate back into civilian life. ![]() I found the details of living a military life very interesting and informative. As a reader, I easily related to the struggles Jolene encountered being away from her children at a precarious time in their young lives. She poignantly shows scarifies a solider and their family makes while serving their country. Hannah writes a beautiful story drawing the reader in and revealing the profound effects deployment has on the entire family. She leaves for war uncertain of her future with Michael and carrying guilt for leaving her children behind. At the time of her deployment she and her husband, Michael are facing a very difficult time in their marriage. ![]() Jolene is sent to war, leaving behind her husband and two young daughters. The protagonist is Jolene, a female fighter pilot in the National Guard. PBR Book Review:Home front by Kristen Hannah is a compelling read. ![]()
